Primary and secondary schools

IT Innovation Lab in Schools Programme

Launched the “IT Innovation Lab in Secondary Schools” and “Knowing More About IT” Programmes in 2020 and 2021 respectively to provide funding support for secondary and primary schools for organising IT-related extra-curricular activities. The “IT Innovation Lab in Secondary Schools” programme was extended in 2023 for another three school years from 2023/24 to 2025/26.

Undergraduates / postgraduates

Research Talent Hub (RTH)

Provides funding support to eligible companies or organisations to engage research talents to conduct research and development work. The scheme provides a maximum monthly allowance of HK$20,000, HK$23,000 or HK$35,000 for research talents with a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree respectively. Besides, an additional monthly living allowance of HK$10,000 will be provided to research talents with a doctoral degree. The maximum engagement period for each research talent is three years in general.

Cyberport Academy

The Cyberport Academy, in partnership with leading technology companies, business enterprises and higher education institutes, provides various activities and training programmes related to technology and entrepreneurship.

Cyberport University Partnership Programme ("CUPP")

A financial technology-focused entrepreneurship programme that offers students who are nominated by CUPP university partners to join an Entrepreneurship Boot Camp at renowned universities abroad to receive mentorship from industry elite. Each winning team will be granted HK$100,000 cash to turn their ideas into prototypes.

STEM Internship Scheme

Launched in 2020, the STEM Internship Scheme subsidises undergraduates and postgraduates taking full-time STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)-related programmes to enrol in short-term internships, with a view to encouraging them to gain innovation and technology (I&T)-related work experience and fostering their interest in pursuing a career in I&T after graduation, so as to enlarge the local I&T talent pool.

Technology Leaders of Tomorrow Programme

The Technology Leaders of Tomorrow Programme, launched by Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation in 2020, aims to nurture university graduates in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)-related disciplines into future I&T leaders. Suitable candidates will be recommended for research and development roles in one of the companies at the Hong Kong Science Park.

Technology training

New Industrialisation and Technology Training Programme (NITTP)

Subsidises local companies on a 2:1 matching basis to train their staff in advanced technologies, especially those related to "New Industrialisation". The Vocational Training Council administers the programme and serves as its Secretariat.

Attracting talent

Technology Talent Admission Scheme

Provides a fast-track arrangement for eligible companies to admit overseas and Mainland technology talent to undertake R&D work for them.
